Hi! I’m Madison- welcome to The Work in Progress Blog.
I’ve always been interested in the many facets of business — from marketing and human resources to finance and accounting. There’s still so much to learn, and this blog exists as a place to share what I’m learning in real time with others who may feel the same way, especially those who have exhausted their current resources and are still searching for explanations that truly make sense.
I earned my Bachelor of Commerce over four years, majoring in Human Resources Management with a minor in Finance, and worked throughout university in both a marketing role with Red Bull and a reception role within the automotive industry. Balancing two jobs while completing my degree taught me discipline, time management, and the importance of showing up consistently. I’ve since continued in the automotive industry in an accounting role, where I’m building technical skills and growing within an organization that supports the career development I’m working toward.
This blog is my way of keeping my knowledge active — whether that’s learning Excel, exploring finance and accounting concepts, reflecting on real work experiences, or sharing practical career insights. It’s a space for people who want to be taken seriously in their careers, value continuous learning, and believe in building skills over time.
